A mid-sized city garden
This garden was designed to complement a recently re-furbished house in a historic conservation area near the city centre. The clients were a young professional couple who wanted a semi-formal, yet welcoming approach to the house which is set back slightly from those to either side of. Hornbeam hedges ‘on stilts’ screen off unsightly views and low clipped yew hedging provides formality. The herbaceous planting reaches a peak in June and then again in late August and on into late autumn. In addition to the hard landscaping materials and plant selection, the service covered issues related to planning, the design for new wrought iron fencing and lighting and irrigation.
